Killer 60' Launch Advice Plz

So how are you guys launching these awd beasts?

Clutch in, bounce revs around ~5200, on an upward rev, just dump the clutch?

Launch control helps. My rev limiter is set to 5500 on the 2 step. I just let it bounce on that and then let the clutch out til i feel it start moving, then dont dump it but let it out very very quickly. If you dump it right off the bat, you will bog.

Mine never bogged when I would just straight out dump the clutch on my stage 2 setup............ Although I did break a motor mounts and two pitch stops.

damn broke the motor mounts! what rpm did you take off at. i use to have a 06 sti also and raced it in houston alot when i was working out there. I was taking off at 5800-6000rpm and never broke anything, but if you release the clutch to fast then you will bogg the hell out of the car. I have a 05 sti now and have never droped it in high rpm yet. im waiting till i know it will break 12's before i take it to the track and get to drop it at 6000 again.

I think Cameron has my 2 step set at 5500. I had the cheap ass plastic motor mounts thats why they broke. I have never ever seen the bogging issues you guys speak of.

Yah, I need some more practice, can't seem to nail it. I'll either bog or ride the clutch a little too much and smoke it. doh!

Maybe I'll give that Launch Control a try...one less thing to juggle. Are you guys setting the 2 step at peak torque or just beyond it? Theoretically, where is the optimum LC rev limit....i'm peaking torque around 4500'ish and peak hp at 5300 before it starts to taper a little bit.

when i was stage two i would try n hold 5500 rpm and did not dump. all i can say is practice without the two step.
